Biting Back: Thanksgiving Party Takes Violent Turn as Inmate Attacks Officer in Lambunao

In an incident that unfolded during a Thanksgiving party hosted by the Sangguniang Kabataan in Barangay Natividad, Lambunao, Patrolman Gilbert Ajeno of Lambunao PNP was attacked by the inmate Jeffrey Libo-on, a 33-year-old unmarried resident of the said barangay.

The altercation ensued when the said inmate, Jeffrey Libo-on, went wild inside the detention cell after being denied permission by the police officers to smoke outside the cell. Quickly, the situation escalated as the inmate physically attacked Patrolman Gilbert Ajeno. In an attempt to restrain him, Ajeno’s hand was bitten, and the middle finger of the police officer sustained injuries due to the biting incident.

Jeffrey Libo-on is the prime suspect in the assault on Jade Lisao, a fellow resident of Barangay Natividad, Lambunao, who sustained injuries to his leg, abdomen, and side. The incident occurred at around 9:30 PM on November 25, 2023, during the Thanksgiving party organized by the Sangguniang Kabataan in the mentioned barangay.

As of now, the suspect is detained at the Lambunao Municipal Police Station, while Patrolman Gilbert Ajeno is hospitalized and scheduled for surgery to address the injuries sustained during the scuffle.
