Remembering Roel Degamo: Governor, Entrepreneur, and Community Leader

Roel Degamo was a respected Filipino politician who dedicated his life to public service. He served as the governor of Negros Oriental, a province in the Philippines, from 2010 until his untimely death on March 4, 2023.

Before becoming governor, Degamo was the vice governor of Negros Oriental from 2004 to 2007 and then served as a member of the Philippine House of Representatives from 2007 to 2010. Throughout his political career, he was known for his efforts to improve the lives of his constituents by focusing on infrastructure development, social services, and economic growth.

During his tenure as governor, Degamo implemented programs to expand access to healthcare, education, and clean water, as well as initiatives to support agriculture and tourism in the region.
