LTO Extends Driver’s License Validity and Lowers Fees to Ease Burden on Motorists
ILOILO CITY – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has announced a much-needed relief for drivers with licenses expiring on April 24, 2023. LTO Chief Atty. Jay Art Tugade declared on Friday, April 21, 2023, that the validity of driver’s licenses expiring on the said date will be extended until October 31, 2023.
Aside from the extension of driver’s license validity, the LTO has also lowered the fees for driving school and waived the periodic medical exam requirement for holders of licenses that are five to ten years old. These measures are expected to provide further relief to motorists and ease their financial burden.
Tugade emphasized that the LTO is committed to making the necessary changes and improvements to better serve the public. The agency will continue to coordinate with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for the procurement process of plastic cards.
