ASF INFORMATION CARAVAN IN OTON
ILOILO CITY – The provincial government of Iloilo, through the Provincial Veterinary Office and Provincial Agriculture Office, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture VI and Municipal Agriculture Office conducted an ASF Information Caravan in the municipality of Oton on December 1, 2022.
DA VI Veterinarian II Dr. Pacifico Lumauag III spoke before the backyard swine raisers in the municipality.
Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Darel Tabuada also briefed the participants on the financial assistance of the provincial government to affected farmers.
Oton is the first ASF-affected town in the province of Iloilo. A total of 31 barangays were affected and 898 swine heads owned by 68 raisers were depopulated.
There were a total of 834 mortalities (natural deaths) owned by 243 swine raisers.
