Private Vehicle Driver Killed in Tragic Four-Vehicle Accident in Zarraga

ILOILO CITY – A fatal accident occurred in Barangay Gines, Zarraga on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, resulting in the death of a private vehicle driver. The accident involved four vehicles, including an SUV, a truck carrying soil, a car, and a motorcycle.

According to Felino Sita, who was driving the truck, the SUV overtook his vehicle and then cut into his lane, failing to return to its proper lane. This forced Sita to swerve to avoid a collision, estimating that the SUV was traveling at around 80 kilometers per hour. The SUV then hit the truck before hitting another car.

Florante Paraiso, the motorcycle rider, stated that he was following the truck at an appropriate speed in the correct lane when the SUV hit the truck and swerved into his lane. Fortunately, Paraiso was able to jump off the motorcycle before it went under the truck.

Police Captain Raffy Señeres, head of the Zarraga Municipal Police Station, confirmed that the driver of the SUV, Julius Desucatan, was traveling with two passengers, Emily Pamplona and Lalanie Viciti, on their way to the hospital for a check-up. Sadly, Desucatan sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The two passengers were unharmed.

The parties involved are currently negotiating and attempting to reach an agreement.
