Drunk Truck Driver Causes Chaos: Collides with wall and tree while carrying pipes
ILOILO CITY – A drunk truck driver carrying a load of pipes had an accident on Thursday night, March 2, 2023, in Barangay Tolarucan, Janiauy, Iloilo, when the truck collided with a wall and a tree.
In an interview with Radyo Bistado, Police Master Sergeant Jessie Caro, the investigator of the Janiauy Municipal Police Station, stated that the truck, driven by 31-year-old Richard Decretales, a resident of Barangay Gines, Janiauy, with his 33-year-old companion, John Michael Reyes, a resident of Tulahom, Maasin, was traveling to Passi City to unload the pipes.
According to Caro’s investigation, the truck hit the wall first, then collided with the tree, and stopped about 30 meters away from the impact site. Due to the accident, Decretales and Reyes sustained various injuries and were immediately taken to the Janiuay District Hospital for treatment.
Caro reported that the cause of the accident was Decretales losing control of the truck due to his drunkenness. Decretales will face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property.
