Drug Bust Operation in Jaro: City Drug Enforcement Unit Seizes P374K Worth of Shabu
ILOILO CITY – A drug bust operation led by Police Captain Val Cambel and the City Drug Enforcement Unit resulted in the seizure of suspected shabu worth over P370,000 in Barangay San Isidro, Jaro on the evening of March 28, 2023.
Franco, a 42-year-old resident of the area, was apprehended after allegedly selling a plastic sachet of shabu to an undercover operative using P5,000 in buy-bust money. An additional 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of 55 grams were seized from Franco’s possession.
According to Captain Cambel, Franco provided names of his suppliers and clientele, who were also reportedly from Jaro. Authorities had been monitoring Franco’s activities for three weeks due to his expertise in avoiding detection.
Franco had previously served time for peddler in 2019 and was released in 2022 through a plea-bargaining agreement with the government. He is currently in police custody and will face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or Republic Act 9165
