Fire Breaks Out in Barangay Bolong Oeste, Sta. Barbara
ILOILO CITY – A sudden fire outbreak caused panic among motorists in Barangay Bolong Oeste, Sta. Barbara yesterday afternoon, April 18, 2023.
The fire started at around 5:15 pm and was first noticed at the rear portion of an empty lot close to residential homes. According to Senior Fire Officer 03 Terzo Obera, the Acting Municipal Fire Marshal of Sta. Barbara Bureau of Fire Protection, the fire quickly spread, and the strong wind made it even harder to contain.
The fire department’s response team immediately arrived at the scene with firetrucks from Pavia, Cabatuan, New Lucena, and ICAG. They successfully controlled the fire at around 6:41 pm, after more than an hour of intense firefighting.
Thankfully, no homes, businesses, or individuals were harmed in the fire. The quick action of the fire department prevented the fire from spreading and causing more damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
