Gabayeron Case Update: Suspect in Recent Crime Voluntarily Surrenders to Authorities
ILOILO CITY – In a press release of ICPO, a suspect Rommel John Celestre, a 21-year-old, resident of Barangay Balabago, has voluntarily surrendered to authorities. The suspect’s complete identity and circumstances remain undisclosed, but sources indicate that the suspect’s family was instrumental in facilitating the surrender.
According to ICPO, the suspect’s family had reached out to authorities and expressed their willingness to surrender the suspect. However, they were still trying to find authorities whom they could trust.
On April 5th, Barangay Captain Aranador of Balabago, with the help of Atty. John Ricsan Tormon, assisted the family in meeting with head the of Mandurriao PNP, Police Lieutenant Colonel Albert SY to facilitate the surrender and ensure the suspect’s safety in the hands of the City PNP.
Immediately after the meeting, PLTCOL SY accompanied the family to Bacolod City to retrieve the suspect, who was reportedly hiding in Valladolid, Negros Occidental after the commission of the crime.
As of this time, the suspect is now in custody and will face due process in the court of law. The PNP has commended the suspect’s family for their cooperation and for choosing to do the right thing.
