Government Programs in Iloilo City Offered Free to Ilonggos
ILOILO CITY – In a career guidance event organized by the Technical Institute of Iloilo City, Molo Campus (TIIC-MC), the Iloilo City Police Station 4 (ICPS) took the lead under the guidance of Police Captain Benjie Dicen, along with the Police Community Affairs and Development Group Region 6 (PCADG). The event took place yesterday, Thursday, June 7, 2023, in Barangay South San Jose, Molo, Iloilo City.
During this career guidance session, various government programs that are offered free of charge were presented to those interested in pursuing Technical Vocational Education and Training at TIIC, as well as four-year courses at the Iloilo City Community College (ICCC).
In an interview with Radyo Bistado, Kurt Nietes, the Institute Representative of TIIC, expressed their initiative to bring educational opportunities to every barangay, disseminating information about these free programs.
The symposium garnered significant interest from attendees, who showed enthusiasm in joining the programs being offered.
Police Major Hector Tanio, the Deputy Chief of the Police Community Affairs and Development Group Region 6, commended the informative symposium conducted by TIIC. He emphasized that the government’s free programs serve as a great help to parents who are financially unable to send their children to school.
Tanio believes that these government programs are instrumental in encouraging young people to enroll and steer clear of vices and undesirable activities.
Captain Dicen expressed his gratitude for the successful promotion of the program and considered it a significant contribution to the youth who have dropped out of school. He also emphasized the importance of informing the community about the government’s free programs through TIIC and ICCC.
