Narrow Escape: Inday’s Pick-up Truck Plunges into River After Swerving to Avoid Collision
ILOILO CITY – A pick-up truck, driven by an unidentified woman known only as Inday, careened off the road and plunged into a river in Barangay Wari-wari, New Lucena, Iloilo on Monday, May 1, 2023, in a harrowing incident. The accident happened around 8:55 am.
Police Corporal Robertson Jamandron, the investigator from the New Lucena Municipal Police Station, revealed that the pick-up truck was traveling with five other passengers and was headed to Pavia from Pototan. Jamandron did not disclose the driver’s identity for privacy reasons.
Jamandron’s investigation showed that the pick-up truck overtook a multicab and a trisikol but then swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle on the opposite lane, causing the driver to lose control. The pick-up truck collided with a post and a concrete barrier before falling into the river.
Thankfully, all occupants of the vehicle sustained only minor injuries and were understandably shaken by the incident.
