ICPO seizes over P3.8M worth of shabu in anti-illegal drug operations

ILOILO CITY – Colonel Joeresty Coronica, who recently assumed the post of Officer-In-Charge of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), has reported a successful first month in office.

Since assuming his role on February 27, 2023, the ICPO has seized a total of 567,7629 grams of suspected shabu with a value of P3,836,787.72 in various anti-illegal drug operations.

ICPO arrests 45 persons for drug-related charges

In a bid to eliminate the proliferation of illegal drugs in Iloilo City, the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDET) conducted 33 operations resulting in the arrest of 45 individuals facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or Republic Act 9165.

ICPO captures 42 wanted persons

Aside from its efforts against illegal drugs, the ICPO has also been successful in apprehending wanted persons. A total of 42 individuals have been arrested, including 8 most wanted persons, while 34 others are still on the wanted list.

Illegal gamblers nabbed by ICPO operatives

In addition to its anti-drug and wanted person operations, ICPO intelligence operatives conducted operations against illegal gambling. A total of 24 individuals were arrested for their involvement in illegal gambling activities.
