Tragic Residential Fire in Iloilo City Claims Life of a 72-year old Woman

ILOILO CITY – A tragic incident occurred earlier this evening in Zone 5, Sta. Rosa, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, where a residential fire caused significant damage to a family’s home.

Sadly, a 72-year-old woman named Leah Fernandez, an unmarried senior, was trapped inside the house during the fire and died. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) received a call for help at 7:47 PM and was able to extinguish the fire by 8:25 PM.

According to the BFP’s incident report, one structure was entirely destroyed, and a family of five was affected by the fire.

Secretary Marga of Sta. Rosa, Mandurriao, and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) have both confirmed the report.
