Tragic Collision in Ajuy: Motorcycle Rider Loses Life in Encounter with Ten-Wheeler Truck
ILOILO CITY – A man lost his life after a tragic road collision in Ajuy on Thursday night, March 9, 2023, a motorcycle rider died in a collision with a ten-wheeler truck in Barangay Malayu-an, Ajuy.
According to a phone interview with the Acting Chief of Police of Ajuy Municipal Police Station, Lieutenant General Enrique Robles, the victim, Rudy Basa, 38 years old, was driving his motorcycle from the town of Concepcion to his home in Barangay Sto. Rosario, Ajuy, when a truck driven by Edmar Muyo, 41 years old and a native of Barangay Tuble, San Dionisio, collided with him at moderate speed. Muyo was shocked when he saw Basa approaching swiftly and accidentally collided with him on his left head truck.
Robles stated that Basa was thrown 20 meters away from his motorcycle due to the impact and sustained fatal injuries, while the truck’s left tire exploded after the collision. Basa was immediately taken to Sara District Hospital but was later pronounced dead on arrival.
Robles added that both parties had a friendly conversation, in which Muyo agreed to a condition that he would provide cash assistance for Basa’s burial, and Basa’s relatives did not file an affidavit of complaint.
