CDEU Seizes Over 300,000 Worth of Suspected Shabu in Lapuz Raid
ILOILO CITY — More than 300,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) in a raid conducted on the evening of Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Block 7, Barangay Sinikway, Lapuz.
Led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr, Officer-In-Charge of the CDEU, they were able to apprehend the subject person, Roman Sucgang, a 46-year-old resident of the area, by buying a plastic containing suspected shabu using the buy-bust money amounting to 6,000 pesos.
Benitez also stated that they were able to recover 21 more plastic bags of suspected shabu, a .38 caliber revolver, 7 live ammunition, and handcuffs upon Roman’s arrest.
The confiscated drugs weighed around 50 grams with an estimated value of 340,000 pesos.
Benitez also announced that two more individuals, Lemuel Sukgang and Edgard Impyado, suspected to be involved in illegal drugs, were also arrested in their residence with Roman.
Currently, the three persons are detained at the La Paz Police Station and will face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022 or Republic Act 9165.
