Ceres Bus Collision Leaves Motorcyclist Dead in Barotac Nuevo
ILOILO CITY – In a tragic accident, a Ceres bus collided with a motorcycle in Barangay Tinorian, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, leaving the motorcyclist dead on Sunday evening, April 2, 2023.
The driver of the bus was identified as Eduardo Simpron Jr, a resident of Barangay Salihid in Barotac Nuevo, while the motorcyclist was Ryan Aposaga, a 34-year-old resident of Barangay Tabucan in the same town.
According to Police Major Reagan Oriña, the head of the Barotac Nuevo Municipal Police Station, in an interview with Radyo Bistado, the Ceres bus was coming from the city of Iloilo, while the motorcycle was on its way home after attending an event. The motorcycle veered into the lane of the bus, and despite attempts to avoid it, the bus collided with the motorcycle, causing fatal injuries to Aposaga.
Major Oriña further added that Aposaga was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and was under the influence of alcohol while driving.
Aposaga was rushed to a nearby hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival due to severe head and body injuries.
The family of Aposaga was later approached by the management of the Ceres bus company, who expressed their condolences and offered assistance with the funeral expenses.
