Iloilo City Police Captures Drug Suspect in Jaro Buy-Bust Worth ₱200K

ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested a 32-year-old drug suspect for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in a successful buy-bust operation conducted last night. Rienel Balgona, a street-level individual and a resident of Barangay Sambag in Jaro, was apprehended around 8:25 pm yesterday.

According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr, Officer-In-Charge of CDEU, they had been tracking Balgona’s activities for more than a month before his arrest. The buy-bust operation resulted in the confiscation of eight sachets of shabu, including the buy-bust item, and the ₱7,000 marked buy-bust money. The total weight of the seized drugs was approximately 30 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱204,000.

Balgona will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and his is now under custody of Jaro PNP for proper disposition of his case.
